My name is Heiko Vermeulen.  I have had over 20 years experience of the wine trade in the UK and other parts of Europe and speak fluent English and German.  During that time I have worked for various reputable independent wine merchants in and around London and have passed the Wine and Spirit Education Trust Diploma and studied towards the tough Master of Wine qualification.  My wife, Susan, will be my lovely assistant.  She has lived many years in France, where she enjoyed the wines of that country and she speaks fluent French.

 

We have now lived in Italy since 2004, where I have run my own business acting as an agent for a number of small Italian wine producers in the UK, Ireland, Germany and the Netherlands.  Not only do I know Italian wines well, but I also know how they compare to the international market, something many Italian wine farmers often do not understand.
